LET EVERY HEART...

Christmas is all about making room. 

As anyone who does any Christmas decorating knows, after we take down all the stuff we boxed up the previous year and start hanging lights, and draping garland, and scattering tinsel, the house isn’t complete until we make room for a tree. 

And… We’ll make room at our table for guests. We’ll make room in our schedules for all the optional-non-optional parties we get to (have to) attend. We’ll make room to pose for some new pictures in once-a-year-sweaters. We’ll make room in our budget to buy long-sought things for people we love. We’ll make room in our diets to accommodate another slice of whatever fits the category: oh-I-shouldn’t-but-it’s-Christmas.

The season leading up to Christmas — Advent — which means arrival, is about making room for someone who is arriving: Jesus. During this Advent season, we’re invited to make room for God’s presence among us. Join us as we consider the implications of the words of that familiar carol: Let every heart prepare Him room.
