NO HARD FAILINGS

As a culture, we’re failure-averse. Failure is, after all, failing. We win. We love winners. We want to count ourselves among them. But, we also have to face the reality that our lives are littered with tragic misses, big mistakes, and things we wish we could undo. In truth, we don’t really know what to do with the things that didn't work in our past. Some of us will do our best to hide them, to dismiss them, or overshadow them with other bigger, more spectacular victories. Most of us will do our best to forget whatever happened that didn’t go the way we planned, as quickly as possible.  

But, what if the greatest and most transformative  things in life come to us, not in the banner moments of our greatest successes, but in the moments of our regrettable failures? In the Bible, God is repeatedly re-fashioning even the most tragic failures into something unexpectedly beautiful. During this series, we’ll talk about what to do with some of our past (and future) failures — about how to make the most of our mistakes.
