BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK

MISSION
Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes volunteers and resources to provide food on the weekends for children at San Juan Elementary who might otherwise go hungry. Every weekend, kids in our community face food insecurity. This ministry exists to meet the practical need of providing food for under-resourced elementary school kids in our community. Every Friday, Harbor Point supports 100 kids by delivering nourishing food to San Juan Elementary. You can be a part of this ministry by packing meals and/or delivering meals every Friday.

HOW IT WORKS
We fill and deliver backpacks filled with nutritious food each week which is distributed to the most in need children at San Juan Elementary. 1 in 6 kids struggle have access to food during the weekend. The program works with elementary school-aged children whose families cannot afford enough food. Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of this program.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NEXT
