THESE ARE HIS HANDS

Trying to answer the question: “What is God like?” is as difficult as they come. Finding words big enough to capture the immeasurability of a thing like His majesty, but that are also clear enough to be understandable by humans (who are slightly less than majestic)  is a lofty aim. What the biblical writers often did, rather than invent new and bigger words to describe God, they utilized the opposite — deeply familiar imagery that could carry multiple layers of meaning. One such example: hands. 

The Bible describes the “hands” of God in a number of different ways: Hands are about making and creating. Hands hold. Hands deliver righteousness. Hands protect. Hands rescue from danger… THESE ARE HIS HANDS. During this series, we’ll take a look at God through the way His hands are depicted in his Word.
