STRONG FAMILIES

MISSION
Keep families in crisis together by expressing biblical hospitality

HOW IT WORKS
Vulnerable families – struggling with joblessness, homelessness, addiction, domestic violence, and other challenges – often have no resource for support. By law and policy, most state child welfare agencies are permitted to intervene only when children have suffered blatant abuse or neglect.

A preventative measure to foster care, Strong Families provides a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for children, while their parents receive the help they need.  Parents voluntarily request a Strong Family hosting and retain full legal custody of their children.

Responding out of care, screened Host Families take children into their home for a short period of time with the support of a team of volunteer Family Friends.
